Growing vegies is easy in your ezyGrow Planter but sometimes we forget to harvest the bounty from our gardens. There are a number of ways to harvest your plants depending on what you have planted. There are a number of lettuces that you can continually harvest the leaves around the edges of as they grow. Spinach is another good vegie that is full of nutrient and can be harvested as they grow. It is best to pick the leaves at the base of the stalk so the plant gets right to work on producing another leaf for you. Tomatoes, beans and peas are another great grazing vegie that can be harvested as they grow. Similarly with herbs trim them as you need them. The beauty of the ezyGrow planter is that you can have it on a veranda or patio close to your kitchen so you don't have to traipse down to the back yard to pick your fresh herbs for dinner. How To Set Up Your ezyGrow PlanterGetting started with your planter is as easy as 1 .. 2 ... 3; 1. Place some fly screen or shade cloth over the drain holes in the bottom of your planter 2. Fill your planter up with a good quality potting mix. 3. Plant, add fertiliser and water your seedlings in You can now sit back and watch your garden grow. The main ingredients are water and fertiliser. Keep these up to your plants are they will love you forever. Vegetables love nutrients so it is recommended that you feed your plants regularly. We use a range of organic fertilisers to get the most out of our systems. Kickalong Organic Potting Mix -BFA Registered Fully Organic & Natural, Searles Kickalong Organic® Potting Mix is a high grade premium potting mix containing a special blend of finely selected organic ingredients, such as: Searles 5 IN 1 Plus® Pellets Organic Plant Food, Searles Fish & Kelp Plus®, Blood & Bone, Potash Bloom Booster This premium blend of composted organic and natural ingredients is designed for sustainable and organic growing of potted plants. This mix has excellent water retention properties while also allowing ideal drainage, providing the right conditions for your loved plants. Organic Link - This is a powder that you incorporate into the top layer of your soil. This fertiliser takes a while to work so it is good to get a potting mix with some fertiliser already in it. Triple Boost - This is a liquid fertiliser that contains a lot of goodness for your plants and your soil. We use 10mls in a 10lt watering can once a week. Triple BoostIf the air is dry and a little windy you might like to use a mulch as well. We use a good lucerne mulch which also has a nutrient content in it. Replanting your ezyGrow PlanterOnce your plants have finished their cycle it is time to replant and keep those ezyGrow gardens full. Remove the old plants and shake off any excess soil. Dig your hands deep into the potting mixture and turn it all over. Re-apply some good slow release organic fertiliser like the Organic Link and your ready to go again. Don't forget to regularly apply some organic fertiliser like Triple Boost to your ezyGrow Planter when your plants are growing. They will love you for it and you will end up benefiting from it. At some point you may need to replace your potting mix. We expect that if you look after your ezyGrow planter by applying plenty of organic fertilisers that build the soil you will get twelve months out of your potting mix.
